Welcome to the Sounds of Fylm show, hosted by Professor Neil Fox from Falmouth University’s Sound/Image Cinema Lab. In this episode you will find a preview through sound of the second screening event April at Verdant Taproom. The screening on Tuesday April 28th is a celebration of Falmouth University’s Sound/Image Cinema Lab’s ongoing commitment to documentary filmmaking in short and long-form. Music in the show comes from the films screening that night, From the Culch (Mulraney, 2024), Cara Mamma (Neal, 2024), The Lost Boys of Carbis Bay (Simpkins, 2025) and Atlas Pool (Darke, 2025), or in some cases, influential cuts chosen by the filmmakers. You will also hear the on-stage conversation recorded the previous month with Denzil Monk from Bosena, and filmmakers whose work he has produced, Gwenno and Christopher Morris. Around that conversation and the music from films and chosen by filmmakers from the upcoming event, there are a couple of Neil’s choices of music from films he loves, or has been watching of late. Enjoy, and see you at the Taproom, or as it was christened in March at the Bosena Showcase, Kernow’s newest (and only?) CinéBar.
